Welcome

Dear Friends:

Thank you for visiting my website! No, it's not a campaign website, but it is a site that I hope will keep you posted on my activities. So much has happened since my Assembly race in November. We won in many different ways, and as a citizen, I hope to continue making a difference in our community.

In the banner above, the landscape is of our beautiful and iconic state flower- the California poppy. It represents the "Golden State" in the best way possible. It is known for its beauty and its ease of growing. To me, California is about the undying human spirit and innovative mindset that are represented in our state flower. California is famous for being on the cutting edge of technological innovation, education systems, and environmental policies. As we continue our journey into the twenty-first century, our state will be the guiding force on some of the most important issues that face us and our country. Economic development, immigration, and health care are just a few big issues. We are currently being asked to rethink how our state political system works with the possibility of redistricting and term limits. As always, while California continues to be the trailblazer, the world will be watching.

I am very fortunate to be able to serve our community on many different levels. In June, I was honored by Governor Schwarzenegger when he appointed me to the California Commission for Economic Development. I was also selected to be on the San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury. These two very public commitments will enable me to be a public servant in the truest sense of the word. Of course, I remain committed to making a better California for our children. For this, I have the privilege of serving as President of the Parents' Club of Palo Alto & Menlo Park, serving as Vice President for the California Chapter of Republicans for Environmental Protection, and being on the board of the Las Lomitas Education Foundation. I will also continue to be involved with La Entrada Middle School, where my two sons are receiving a first-rate public school education, and the Junior League of Palo Alto*Mid-Peninsula, where I am a committee member for the East Palo Charter Schools Character Development program. I have volunteered for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley in connection with the opening of their new state-of-the-art community facility and from where my sons are clamoring to adopt another furry friend addition to our family and a new pal for our adopted family dog, Fluffy.

During this exciting time in California history, your voice really matters to me! Without you, I would not be blessed with the opportunities to serve our community. Again, thank you for your continued support to make California's future better for our children. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. I would love to hear from you!

Very truly yours,

Virginia

Assembly District 21

In 2006, I had the privilege of running for State Assembly for Assembly District 21. It was a wonderful experience that gave me a unique opportunity to listen to the needs of the community I love. If you're interested in learning more about my race and the issues I care about, this link is an archive of my campaign website. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me!

21st Century California Republican Party Platform Draft

Dear Fellow Republicans,

Like you, we care about the California Republican Party, we care about making the California Republican Party relevant, and we care about the future of California.

The platform presented to you was written by the people of the CRP Platform Committee and other concerned Republicans. Numerous comments from every part of California were incorporated into the 21st Century California Republican Party Platform with the one goal of unifying all California Republicans, even though we know there will be differences of opinion. Our voices represent what is best for our state-- promoting a strong and vibrant economy, celebrating individual freedom and liberty, honoring personal responsibility, and providing the best future for our children.

We greatly appreciate your input and sincerely thank you for your ideas to make the California Republican Party relevant and strong again. Now is the time for the CRP to either lead with a vision or be led by repeating our mistakes. You have the power to make the difference. The Platform Committee is scheduled to meet on Friday, February 22, at 2 p.m. at the Hyatt Embarcadero in San Francisco. We look forward to seeing you there and respectfully ask that you adopt the 21st Century California Republican Party Platform at the Platform Committee meeting.

Sincerely,

Virginia Chang Kiraly & Leonard Lanzi, Co-Chairs
21st Century California Republican Party Platform Committee
